New publication! You may have seen this at the MRAM forum poster session, and now can read all about it in the paper. We develop a language model-first principles pipeline “LEAD” for rapid discovery of new materials for magnetic tunnel junctions to get to lower resistance (RA) while maintaining, or increasing, the on/off ratio (TMR). Using this method, we uncovered an interesting direction of using ScN or TiN dusting layers on either side of MgO to lower RA while enhancing spin transport across the tunnel barrier. We plan to put the tools on Github and hope LEAD can be a valuable pipeline for materials discovery in other fields! And that it can lead to better materials for our field of spintronics.

Carried out by undergraduate Sabiq Islam (presenting this at ICRC this week), in collaboration with Shehrin Sayed and TSMC.
