Sharing our work: “Random Bitstream Generation using Voltage-Controlled Magnetic Anisotropy and Spin Orbit Torque Magnetic Tunnel Junctions,” just published in JxCDC. Led by graduate student Sam Liu and postdoctoral researcher Jaesuk Kwon (Ph.D), we used physics-based modeling to study and compare different methods for random bitstream generation using magnetic tunnel junctions, and showed their usefulness for generating arbitrary probability distributions and solving np-hard problems. A shoutout to the whole DOE-Coinflips team!
